July 4th Festival and Fireworks

It’s fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A! That’s right! The Village People are playing at the July 4th Festival and Fireworks this year!

The Village People perform in Lake Forest July 4th, 2009

But will Our July 4th Celebration Fizzle this year? It’s a real possibility.

Depending on financial support from corporate sponsors, City funding and individuals like you, our annual Festival and Fireworks may either continue on — or cease as we know it today.

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation needs your help!

With the current economy in flux and a pervasive fiscal conservatism, everyone is watching costs closely and tightening their belts. Everyone serving on the Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation are volunteers - and 110% judicious of how money will be spent. Funds we receive from all donors for this event directly and are used only to support the expenses for Festival & Fireworks materials, security, signage, parking and other items necessary to run the event. In this year of reining in costs, you should also know that rather than curtail our celebration in this year of special concern, we want to keep up the great tradition going; an event that symbolizes not only love of and respect for our country, but a special tradition that people of Lake Forest feel so proud and passionate about.

With that, we ask you to help our community continue a great tradition in Lake Forest.
